Petrol engine problems need more than a fault code
An engine warning light or misfire can point to several different causes. A diagnostic code is a starting point, rather than an instruction to replace a particular part. Motor-Pro combines the symptoms you describe with diagnostic findings to decide what needs checking next.
What to tell us
Common enquiries include an engine management light, hesitation under acceleration, rough idling, a persistent misfire, stalling or poor starting. Tell us when the problem happens, whether it is worse hot or cold, and what work has already been done.
What happens at the assessment
We assess the reported fault, explain what the findings mean and discuss suitable repairs. The scope depends on the vehicle, the symptoms and what can safely be assessed at your location. Parts and additional repair work are agreed separately.
Can you diagnose an intermittent fault?
Sometimes, but a fault that is not present during the visit can require further investigation. A video, the exact conditions when it occurs and any stored warning messages can be useful. We’ll explain any limits to the findings rather than claim certainty without evidence.
